Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

Here at Beckerco Music, we are fortunate enough to get some of the coolest, most unique guitars by some of the best builders in the world.  This is especially true when it comes to Gretsch Custom Shop guitars by legendary Masterbuilder Stephen Stern.  We've had plenty, and loved them all, but that ride has come to an end - Stern has rode off into the sunset with a well-deserved retirement.

Also fortunately, we have a great client base that collected these guitars, and occassionally one will be become available.  This creates an excellent opportunity - a chance to get an incredible Gretsch Custom Masterbuilt G6128CS-DC Triple Jet built by Stephen Stern.

A photo is worth a thousand words, and this guitar is extremely photogenic - so we'll pause here to allow you to take it all in. Be sure to check out all of the shots and to zoom in to really see the incredible detail on this guitar.

This stunning guitar is a reimagining of a classic model, with a double cutaway and 3 pickups, hence the name "Triple Jet".  Rarely seen, this model provides a wide variety of tonal options, and is incredibly versatile.  Not only that, it looks amazing too!  The Turquoise Sparkle finish is incredible, especially when matched with the Alpine White back & sides.  It's too beautiful to relic, so it's an NOS (we feel that was the right call).

This G6128CS-DC Triple Jet has a mahogany body with a laminated maple top, and is quite resonant.  We noticed that before plugging it in.  And, it's not too heavy - it weighs in at 8.0 lbs even.  It will be easy to keep strapped on standing up all night.  The neck is super comfortable, with the classic Gretsch C shape profile.  It's a mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard, adorned with humpblock inlays.  Having a Bigsby B3C is a perfect for expressive playing and a completion of what a Gretsch like this offers.

This guitar features Seymour Duncan Dynasonic pickups in the neck and middle postions, and a TV Jones Power'Tron Plus in the bridge position.  It gives you all of the classic Gretsch sounds in a single guitar: the early to mid 50's glassy tone of bright output, as well as the vintage twang and growl characteristic of the late 50's. You'll have the ability to produce gorgeous cleans, as well unruly higher-gain sounds.   The Seymour Duncan Dynasonic pickups are wound a slightly different way to add more high-end sparkle and output.  They are great for single note playing, whether with your fingers or a pick, and react very well to your level of attack. At the same time, they are great for rhythm playing and chords.  The Power'Tron Plus is the hottest Filter'Tron pickup that TV Jones makes, designed for Billy Gibbons.  It's perfect for everything from blues to metal, and also cleans up nicely.  Designed with standard PAF magnet wire to resemble a hotter Gibson PAF Humbucker (in the 8.5k DCR range) while retaining the core Filter'Tron characteristics. The lows are tighter and more defined than a traditional Humbucker but it barks and growls generously when digging in.

This G6128CS-DC Triple Jet is like none other out there.  It was just built in 2020 and well cared for since.  So, this guitar is in excellent condition, and comes with the original case and Certificate of Authenticity.   It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our repair shop, and has immediately become one of our favorite guitars here.

The Gretsch Custom Shop is where the time-honored legacy reaches its creative apex. No instruments epitomize the extraordinary expertise and attention to detail of Gretsch’s most trusted hands like Custom Shop instruments. From modern versions of legendary Gretsch instruments to artist tribute models and specially requested one-off guitars, the Gretsch Custom Shop takes “That Great Gretsch Sound” to an entirely new plane, but also preserves and perfects it.

With Stephen Stern having retired, this G6128CS-DC is not only an amazing playing and visually stunning guitar, but it's also truly collectible.  We don't except it to last long.
