Pre Owned 1978 Greco EG600P Peter Frampton LP Custom 3-Pickup Black Beauty With OHSC
By the sword of Athena forged in Mount Olympus, here is your Greco! Yes this is a 3-pickup LP Custom style guitar with all the appointments you think of the great guitar it is inspired by.
This rare find is a bit of a hidden gem. Built in Japan, this model was only products from 1977 - 1982, and is part of the era of "lawsuit guitars". It's based on the legendary Black Beauty that Peter Frampton used on "Frampton Comes Alive". Once look and you'll know what it's all about. Since this one was made in 1978, it has the "pancake" body, making it much lighter than the later solid body versions.
Three humbucking pickups give you an incredible tonal range. With its chambered mahogany body, carved top, and binding it's very clear this guitar looks as good as it sounds and with plenty of sustain. Feel the comfort of its slim profile neck with resonant rosewood fingerboard and stylish block inlays. Did I mention the gold hardware that really makes it stand out?
This EG600P is in great condition, especially considering it's age (turns 45 this year, and definitely was played). While there is a bit of wear, it's relatively well-kept and clean. There are some dings, as to be expected, but nothing major. See photos for everything. There's plenty of life left in it. Also, this one comes with a hardshell case. The guitar plays, intonates and functions just as it should - the techs in our shop have set it up perfectly.
This guitar will have you singing, "Ooo Greco I love your way, everyday, I want to play night and day!"
