Used Friedman Metro D Flame Top Reseda Green with Case
Every now and then we get a guitar that really grabs our attention - that's what happened here. We were thrilled to take in this great collaboration from master amp builder Dave Friedman and master luthier Grover Jackson, the Friedman Metro D Flame Top in Reseda Green.
HIGH QUALITY BOUTIQUE BUILD
This guitar has the best of both traditional and modern appointments. It features a mahogany body with a figured maple top that gives you sustain and warm tones. It greatly benefits from the long tenon neck giving a tighter feel with greater tone and sustain transferring to the body. Speaking of the neck, the Metro D gives you Jescar fretwire, and a compound-radius neck for exceptional comfort and feel.
QUALITY ELECTRONICS, EXCEPTIONAL TONE
Of course this collaboration would yield an instrument with great electronics. What you get are custom-voiced Classic and Classic+ humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions. These pickups offer a balanced tone that has an articulate top end with a beefed up midrange that can push hard on amp. Giving you a wide range of warm vintage tone with plenty of responsiveness from your playing and volume of the instrument. With the internal CTS pots and Orange Drop capacitors you get the purest signal possible.
This fantastic instrument is in excellent condition and comes the original hardshell case. It has been vetted and setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. We've never had one in before, and don't expect to again - this is a somewhat rare bird. If this one floats your boat, grab it before it's gone!
Premium body woods - Every Metro D features a unique combination of high quality, hand selected tonewoods that deliver an elegant, rich tone. Each piece of wood is hand-selected. Dave and Grover found that the combination of an Alder body back with a maple top produces a punchy, resonant sound. The Metro D is also available with a traditional Mahogany back version.
Necks - The Metro D long tenon neck is made with Genuine Mahogany and is paired to a Rosewood or Ebony Fingerboard.
Frets – Jescar FW57110 nickel silver fret wire is used on Metro D guitars
Compound Radius - Compound radius fingerboard (CRF). The fingerboard geometry is based on a conical shape rather than cylindrical. The significance is tangible and substantial – a 10”-14” compound radius fingerboard allows for maximum playability with no chance of your strings fretting out when bending. The compound radius is time-consuming and laborious to get exactly right, yet worth-it – and featured on every Friedman Metro D.
Tuners and Bridge– The Metro D is loaded with a Tone Pros Tune-O-Matic style Bridge and Stop Tail Piece that is paired with locking tuners.
Custom Friedman Pickups – The Metro D is loaded with a Classic Humbucker in the neck position that is combined with the Classic+ Humbucker in the bridge. Adding these pickups to the entire Metro D equation delivers a rich, defined sound experience inspired by the golden age of guitar building.
• The Friedman Classic Humbucker is a 'tip-of-the-hat' to the legendary PAF Humbucker... smooth and sweet.
• The "+" in the Friedman Classic+ Humbucker signifies that it has more windings and is hotter than the Classic Humbucker. This gives the pickup a slightly crunchier tone in higher gain environments. This pickup is used in the bridge position of the CALI.
Case included – All Friedman guitars come in a custom G&G case.
Certificate of Authenticity - Dave Friedman carefully inspects each guitar prior to shipping. A serial numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by Dave is included.
