 Every now and then, a guitar comes in the front door that grabs everyone here's attention - this is one of those.  One of our long-time customers came in with this killer Gibson Custom Shop '57 Les Paul Junior Singlecut, which has a special tweak.  It was built with a humbucker (instead of the normal P90).  This was done as a small run a few years ago, and proved to be a hit.

Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of craftsmanship, quality, and sound excellence. Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail.  Sometimes they craft the perfect recreation of a guitar from "Golden Era", sometimes they create something entirely new, and quite often they make something that never was but perhaps should have been.  This '57 Les Paul Junior in Vintage Sunburst perfectly exemplifies that.

In the 1950's, the Les Paul Junior was sold as a student/budget model -- as simple as a set-neck electric guitar could be. But after a while, the humble model caught the ear of professional guitarists who appreciated its sonic purity and minimalist components. Gibson Custom Shop has proudly kept the recipe the same for this Historic Reissue. From the solid mahogany and hide glue construction to the vintage-style wiring, the classic Les Paul Junior is back...but this one has a tweak of being loaded up with a black bobbin Gibson Custom Bucker humbucker for all your higher-gain needs.
The guitar is all original except one thing: the previous owner added an aged nickel pickup cover to the humbucker.  Originally, it was uncovered.  We think this is a nice tough and makes the guitar look much cooler, so we left it on there.
It's in excellent condition, and has started to age nicely (see photos for the finish checking).  It's been vetted and setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  It comes with the original hardshell case.  This one is kind of a rare bird, so if you're into the idea of a Les Paul Junior with a humbucker, grab this one before it's gone!
